We have put forth our Reforms in good faith, but we are open to reasoned critique. This is a new combination of ideas. It is hard to predict what the world would really look like after our Reforms. We will continually modify our Reforms to correspond with new information we get.
The same goes for our methods to build the Party. Expect us to be pragmatic. We will try things. Some will work, and some won’t. We will try to be evidence-driven and learn quickly.
Transparency
Just as we call for transparency in the operation of all Legal Entities, the Emancipation Party will voluntarily practice it in our own affairs.
We will regularly post detailed financials online.
Our Membership List will be public.
The process for candidate selection (not yet defined) will emphasize openness and transparency as key design criteria.
Much of the strategy and doctrine of the Party will be hashed out in our online Forum, which will be publicly viewable.
We encourage Members and others to hold us to the value of Transparency if we drift.
Effectiveness
While ideas are important, many worthy ideas have failed due to poor execution or insufficient attention to the details.
We are committed to being Serious about Serious Change. The first “serious” means that we will approach the problem of political change in an intense and business-like fashion, as befits the importance of the stakes. The second “serious” means that our program of Reforms have been designed to truly reclaim the American economy and political system for The People, and to defend those Reforms from recapture once they are enacted.
Strict Legality
All too often advocates for change have been derailed by needless entanglements with the law. Why let “the man” bust you for littering while you are busy attacking the status quo?
We will operate at all times in an entirely legal, Constitutional, and ethical manner. The Party will not engage in civil disobedience: all mass meetings, demonstrations, etc. will have all required permits and our events will be conducted in a disciplined and peaceful manner.
Calls by EP Members or affiliates to engage in illegal or unethical behavior should be considered to be the work of “agents provocateurs”, should not be followed, and should be reported to the Party.
Minimum Necessary Radicalism
Our program for Reform is radical, but it has been designed to be no more radical than necessary. If we find that it can be made less radical and still accomplish the same goals, we will make it less radical.
Proposals for additions or modifications will be filtered by the “Minimum Necessary Racialism” rule.
